Sotheby’s Auction House is gearing up to host two highly-anticipated wine auctions in Hong Kong and New York, featuring the top-tier private cellar collection of the late American legend Jerry Perenchio.

The renowned auction house, Sotheby’s, is all set to showcase an extraordinary collection of wines from the cellar of Jerry Perenchio, the late American entrepreneur, in two auctions in Hong Kong and New York. Perenchio, who passed away at the age of 86 last year, was a passionate collector of fine wines and a renowned figure in the world of business, charity, and film production.

According to Sotheby’s reports, “this will be one of the most prestigious vintage wine auctions ever.” The auction will feature a range of classic vintages from Bordeaux and Burgundy, as well as rare old-vintage treasures.

The first auction, scheduled for March 30th in Hong Kong, will highlight a selection of exceptional wines, including a set of 4.5-liter bottles of 1971 La Tache Red Wine from the Domain de La Romanee-Conti in France, a set of 1.5-liter bottles of Red Wine from the same domain in 1985, a 4.5-liter bottle of Mouton Rothschild Red Wine from France in 1924, and a rare bottle of Lafite Rothschild Red Wine from Pauillac in France in 1869. Also on offer will be an assortment of old vine red wines from the Comte Georges de Vogue Musigny Grand Cru, spanning the 1940s, 1950s, and 1980s.

Perenchio’s son, John Perenchio, expressed his father’s genuine passion for top-notch wines. Jerry Perenchio lived a remarkable life with few regrets, except for the fact that he couldn’t share these precious wines from his cellar with his loved ones. He chose to donate his collection to the auction with all proceeds going to the Perenchio Foundation, which supports various institutions in Los Angeles dedicated to art, education, and charity.
